Creative Director | | Lead Designer
Hillsdale College developed Constitution 101 for Law Enforcement to provide American law enforcement officers with free, instructor-led education on the principles and constitutional foundations that guide their profession. As the program expanded nationwide, it required a distinct identity that would resonate with law enforcement while remaining unmistakably connected to the Hillsdale College brand.
The challenge was to create a visual identity that conveyed authority, integrity, and professionalism without relying on clichés or militaristic aesthetics. The solution was a brand system that balanced institutional credibility with symbols and design elements familiar to law enforcement audiences, reinforcing the program's mission to equip officers with a deeper understanding of the Constitution they have sworn to uphold.
I developed the program's logo and comprehensive identity system, establishing a flexible visual language that extended across print, environmental, and instructional materials. A key component of the project was the design of a custom Challenge Coin—a meaningful tradition within military and law enforcement communities—presented to officers upon completing the course as a lasting symbol of achievement and commitment to constitutional principles.
The identity was implemented across instructor and student guides, presentation materials, certificates, promotional collateral, and other classroom resources, creating a cohesive educational experience that elevated the program while strengthening its connection to the Hillsdale College mission.
